Pre Treatment Advice

Pre-Treatment Advice

To help you achieve the best possible results and reduce the risk of irritation, bruising or other unwanted reactions, please read the following advice before attending your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

Please arrive with clean skin wherever possible. Avoid applying make-up, fake tan, heavy moisturisers, oils or active skincare products to the treatment area on the day of your appointment.

For approximately 24–48 hours before treatment, please avoid:

  • Alcohol

  • Excessive sun exposure or sunbeds

  • Strenuous exercise immediately before your appointment

  • Waxing, threading, exfoliating or using hair-removal creams on the treatment area

  • Retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and other strong active skincare products

  • Any new skincare products that could cause irritation or sensitivity

Some medications and supplements may increase the likelihood of bruising. However, you should never stop taking prescribed medication unless advised to do so by your doctor or prescribing healthcare professional.

Please eat normally and drink plenty of water before your appointment, particularly when attending for injectable treatments.

Please Tell Us Before Treatment If You:

  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive

  • Have any allergies or known sensitivities

  • Are taking prescription medication, antibiotics or blood-thinning medication

  • Have recently been unwell or are currently experiencing an infection

  • Have an active cold sore, rash, broken skin, irritation or infection near the treatment area

  • Have recently undergone dental treatment, surgery or another aesthetic procedure

  • Have previously experienced a reaction or complication following a treatment

  • Have any medical condition that may affect healing

  • Are prone to fainting or feeling unwell during treatments

Certain conditions or medications may mean that your appointment needs to be postponed or that a particular treatment is unsuitable for you.

Cold Sores

Some facial treatments may trigger a cold sore outbreak in clients who are prone to them. Please let us know before your appointment if you have a history of cold sores, particularly when receiving treatment around the lips or mouth.

Treatment cannot be carried out over an active cold sore or skin infection.

Injectable Treatments

Before dermal fillers, skin boosters or other injectable treatments, avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours may help reduce bruising and swelling.

Please do not schedule injectable treatments immediately before an important event, holiday or special occasion. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur and may take time to settle.

Where possible, allow at least two weeks between your treatment and an important event.

Skin Treatments

Before treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels or advanced facials, avoid strong exfoliating products, retinol and other active ingredients for several days beforehand, or for the period recommended during your consultation.

Avoid deliberate tanning and ensure the treatment area is not sunburned, irritated or damaged.

Your Consultation

A consultation may be required before treatment. This allows us to discuss your concerns, medical history, suitability, expected results and any possible risks or side effects.

Please provide complete and accurate information during your consultation. This helps us select the safest and most appropriate treatment for you.

Cancellations and Postponements

Please contact us before travelling to your appointment if you become unwell, develop a cold sore, infection, rash or irritation, or begin taking antibiotics or new medication.

Your safety is always our priority, and it may be necessary to postpone your treatment until you have fully recovered.

Important

This information provides general guidance only. Individual treatments may have additional preparation requirements, which will be explained to you during your consultation or appointment.

Please follow any personalised instructions given to you by your practitioner.
